Fewer than half of MPs think parenting programmes would benefit parents, according to a recent survey of 64 MPs, carried out by Families for Freedom, a pressure group that campaigns against state intervention in families.

The survey showed that Tory and Labour MPs often blamed parents for crime and other social problems.
