Parents ignore web dangers

Websurfing children are at risk from paedophiles because their parents do not understand new technology, according to a report, Get I.T. Safe, by children’s charity NCH and Tesco Telecoms.

It found a third of 11 to 16-year-olds used blogs yet two thirds of parents did not know what a blog was. Almost half of children said they could bypass parental controls and security software. For a free family technology guide visit Tesco stores or www.tesco.com
