Parents as inspectors is not the point

I am intrigued by the letter you published from Sir Michael Wilshaw (27 January). He states that “if (the school) is judged to require improvement in its next inspection, it would have a further 12-18 months to bring about the improvements it needs to make”. I had assumed it was Sir Michael who was responsible for making sure improvements in inspection take place, not the school being inspected.
