Nigel Ford, Hastings, East Sussex

* The term before starting a specific topic advertise for voluntary help in your local magazineweekly paper. The correspondent is usually delighted to have something to write about and you’d be surprised at the expertise available nearby. Don’t restrict voluntary help to parents only; apart from benefiting the children’s education, you are extending the area of support for the school.

Our village correspondent is paid for each line she writes, so is more than happy to include school news - and the school advertises free.

OFSTED inspector, Edingale, Tamworth
