HEADTEACHERS put much effort into creating and maintaining good relationships with parents, for the ultimate benefit of the pupils. It would damage this relationship beyond belief if heads are now forced to demand fixed-penalty fines for truancy (“The right tools”, TES, December 13). Truancy is a matter for the local education authorities and the police to tackle. Please, no buck-passing.
