* MARCH 9 1929 The Glamorganshire Education Committee have passed a resolution that the county should in future make no nomination for any branch of the fighting Services. The question arose on the case of a clever boy who had been nominated by the County Council for entry as an aircraft apprentice and had been selected, with four others, out of an original entry of 502 boys, for training at the Royal Air Force College as an officer of the Royal Air Force.....The Rev DM Jones is reported as delcaring that the education authority ought not to nominate any boy for training in the destruction of human life; and the same gentleman is said afterwards to have declared that the decision of the committee would be in the interests of the nation and of the world in the bringing about of peace.
