Top-class football facilities were unveiled at the official opening of Broughton High in Edinburgh last week.
The new sports facilities will be used by the Edinburgh Scottish FA Boys’ Football Academy, which has been up and running in the city as a pilot project since August 2007. It was officially opened by the Scottish Football Association’s chief executive, Gordon Smith, and the city’s education leader, Councillor Marilyne MacLaren.
The amenities, which comprise a floodlit 3G football pitch, a 2G pitch and a sports hall, were developed as part of a pound;180 million PPP2 project to build six new schools in the city.
