Paul Brett has been promoted to the post of director of education, arts and libraries for Bedfordshire. He was formerly deputy chief education officer.

Graham Able, head of Hampton School, Richmond, Surrey, will become master of Dulwich College, London SE21, on January 1, 1997. In the meantime, Christopher Field will continue as acting master.

Malcolm Allan, chief executive of Kent Training and Enterprise Council, has been appointed chair of the Kent Education Business Partnership replacing Mike Gadd, who held the post for four years.

Sir Crispin Tickell, warden of Green College, Oxford, has been appointed chancellor of the University of Kent at Canterbury from May 18.
