Clearly, personnel departments require efficient filing systems. It’s just a pity that whoever classified Renfrewshire’s instructions to teaching staff on what do in the case of violent incidents hadn’t thought about the heading of their Personnel Circular on Violence a little more carefully.
A six-page document headed (we kid you not) “Violent Incident Report (PERV)” was always likely to lead to alternative interpretations, as well as the chance that somebody might send it in to Jotter. Which, happily, they did . . .
