According to page 3 of the July 30 edition, Mick Brookes, of the National Association of Head Teachers, is a trustee of the Campaign for Learning Outside the Classroom, which backed a zoo accused of promoting creationism (“Approved for school visits: the Christian zoo accused of backing creationism”). Meanwhile on page 1 (“Raid on IT budgets doubles to #163;100m”), Mr Brookes states: “It’s wrong that money is being leeched from (state schools) to pay for a pet project of dubious worth”. Quite.
