Philosophy - Moral dilemma

The Higher paper attracted no major criticisms from Dylan Bartlett, principal teacher of religious, moral and philosophical studies at the Royal High in Edinburgh.

He liked the presentation of the questions, particularly the one on critical thinking which dealt with people returning to New Zealand after the World Trade Centre attack - did this mean that New Zealand was now a safer place?

The moral philosophy question was sufficiently vague to give students the opportunity to display their knowledge, he felt. It asked them to discuss from a Kantian and a utilitarian perspective the dilemma of whether, given the opportunity, you should cheat to get into medical school.
