Gervase Phinn, a former schools’ inspector and now successful author, will be presenting the seminar Developing Storytelling Skillls at Key Stages 1-3. at the Education Show. His Longman lecture will look at issues such as choosing a theme, performance, development of story structure, the creation of character and the use of language. Gervase, whose books include The Other Side of the Dale and Family Phantoms, will also be recommending a range of resources for classroom storytelling. The seminar takes place at 10.30am on Saturday March 13 in Room D9.

The Power and The Passion: The Benefits and Pleasure of Shared Reading will be the subject under discussion when reading evangelist Wendy Cooling talks to Bel Mooney, author of the Kitty series of books. This National Literacy Association lecture takes place at 10.30am on Friday March 12 in Room D5.
