Giant caterpillars and snails went on show in Lochgilphead town centre earlier this month, the results of a nature project between local pupils and Scottish Natural Heritage.
The larger-than-life photographs were projected onto the side of a building in the town as part of a lantern procession held annually on the first Saturday of November.
Taken by S4 pupils from Lochgilphead High, they showed the wildlife found at Moine Mhor National Nature Reserve, an ancient peat bog to the north of the town.
The outdoor projection was the latest step in a two-year photography project between SNH and Lochgilphead High, called Snapberry Take II. Based around nature reserves in mid-Argyll, the project finds ways to put young people in touch with nature. In mid-September, an exhibition of pupils’ photographs in the Archway Gallery in Lochgilphead raised almost pound;1,000 for the Red Cross Pakistan Appeal.
Snapberry Take II is run by Caroline Anderson from SNH, with help and advice from SNH photographer Lorne Gill.
