Particularly at AS and A2-level, interest in science fiction has led to seeing how the genre can be used to elucidate what we teach. In robotics, students can imagine uses for robots around the house, in space and for dangerous or monotonous activities. Pupils should also try to ascertain what makes a robot different from a human and what life and consciousness mean. www.thetech.orgexhibitsonlinerobotics is an exhibition about robotics with some useful discussion about ethics.

The Jet Propulsion Laboratory Robotics page at http:robotics.jpl.nasa.gov has information on some amazing new robots.
