TEACHERS in Angus may be able to switch schools more easily within the council under a new scheme agreed this week.
The authority believes staff should be encouraged to widen their experience by working in different schools over the course of their careers and has updated recruitment procedures.
Vacancies will stil be advertised normally but teachers who are seeking a transfer will be able to exchange if a teacher in another school is similarly prepared to move. Both headteachers would have to back the switch.
Angus is proposing an annual round of expressions of interest and will try to match teachers where possible.
