THE GOVERNMENT will support a Private Members Bill to outlaw body piercing on under-16s, unless they have parental consent, Margaret Beckett, leader of the Commons, told MPs.

At present tattooing children is illegal, and in London councils have the power to take away licenses from irresponsible businesses.
