Four Neighbourhood Journeys are mapped in an imaginative booklet which will inspire teachers at KS2 to work with children using the built environment. Two take a path into the past, drawing on literacy skills to tell the story of a place and so bring history to life or using dance techniques to set a mood that localises a myth. The other two lead into the future. Numeracy is at the centre of an exploration of the changing dimensions of physical spaces, while work in geography shows how planning should involve human values. Neighbourhood Journeys is available from CABE Education, 11 York Road, London SE1 7NX.
