MORE evidence that Gaelic-medium education enhances performance in English-speaking aspects of the curriculum is provided in a glowing HMI report for Sleat primary on Skye, where attainment in English language ad mathematics is described by inspectors as very good.

They noted that Janet MacLeod, the school’s headteacher, had successfully devoted effort to integrating English and Gaelic-speaking pupils.
