“The power of poetry: teaching poetry written for and by children” is the theme of a conference on November 4 organised in association with Penguin Children’s Books at Logan Hall, Institute of Education, 20 Bedford Way, London WC1.

Poets Wes Magee, Roger McGough, Brian Pattern, Anne Harvey, Tony Bradman, Kit Wright and John Agard will give presentations or lead workshops. Primary teachers, secondary English teachers, librarians, governors and parents welcome. Fee: Pounds 50, Pounds 40 Institute of Education primary PGCE partnership schools.
