'Political prop' jibe prompts head to quit

The award-winning headteacher selected to front the Yes for Wales referendum campaign for further powers for the National Assembly has stepped down from the role to avoid a political row. An activist complained after Janet Hayward took four of her pupils from Barry Island Primary School to the Yes for Wales launch event, claiming they were used as a "political prop".
