Brunel university is planning to open an academy for 16 to19-year-olds on its campus in Uxbridge, west London. The academy would provide courses focusing on maths, science and technology to 800 pupils who would be encouraged to attend lectures at the university. HSBC bank’s education trust plans to sponsor the school, which is scheduled to open in 2007.
