A report from the Northern Ireland education ministry is urging schools to work together to offer a greater choice of subjects. A new “entitlement curriculum” plan says that all post-primary partnerships will have to offer at least 24 subjects at GCSE and 27 at A-level, which will be compulsory from 2013. But headteachers and the Ulster Unionists have dismissed it.
