Bob Jelley, headteacher of St Giles junior school in Warwickshire, had a tussle with parents who wanted to take their child on holiday this week.
But the parents were adamant and the child left for Lanzarote immediately after his last Sat test. The errant holiday-makers did not forget Mr Jelley and his staff , however. On Tuesday, a postcard from Lanzarote arrived on the school doormat. It said simply: “Holiday 10, Sats 0.”
