I see that trainee teachers will be able to specialise in modern languages for the “first” time from September (“Primary taste of foreign tongues”, TES, June 29).
Strange. I studied French as my main subject from 1964 to 1967 at Derby Diocesan College, as junior French was then in vogue.
Could this be an example of plus ca change, plus c’est la meme chose?
