What is meant by “moralising” in sex education? (TES, January 31). It appears to be a boo-word, applied to those who commend what used to be called “love, courtship and marriage”. Yet “please use a condom” is just as “moralising” as “wait to get married”.

Let us therefore reserve the term for tone rather than content: “You’e a disgrace, Flashman! You knew full well that ‘Safe Sex’ is the school motto.”
