“IF it’s worth doing - it’s worth doing IN school time! Believe it or not, teachers only have the same hours in the day as everyone else! Why should we be expected to give up our own time to attend a course! Get a life!”
This was the anonymous response from a primary teacher in Wales who was invited to a free in-service training course runnin in their area from 4.30 to 6.30 pm.
I realise that there are many calls on a teacher’s time. What I didn’t realise was that anyone in the teaching profession would consider this to be an appropriate way to respond.
