Pour les enfants

You are right to draw attention, again, to the parlous state of languages in secondary schools, However, you ignore the splendid (if inadequately funded ) government primary languages initiative, and the immense effort expended by the national director for languages, Centre for Information on Language Teaching, National Advisory Centre on Early Language Learning, regional support groups and professional associations. You also ignore growth in languages at adult evening classes and protection for languages at private schools.
