Just like policemen, Powerpoint users are getting younger every day. A group from St Modan’s High in Stirling displayed impressive expertise at an “ethos” conference last week. Illustrating the extent of “pupil power” in the school, they explained how they were involved in redesigning the food court - that’s a canteen to most of us.

They also decided to change the name. Not a great surprise there, since it had previously been known as “The Joint”, which may have been an allusion to pieces of meat - but then again, perhaps not.
