An independent report has praised a project run by the General Teaching Council for England, the Department for Education and Skills and local education authorities which aims to give teachers more opportunities for on- the-job training. The National Foundation for Educational Research said the Pounds 350,000 partnership in which GTC advisers worked with 26 LEAs, had led to a range of improvements including better relationships between schools and authorities.
