Eminent 2005

European Schoolnet’s annual Expert Meeting of International and National Educational Networks on the theme of increasing the uptake of ICT in schools will be hosted by the French Ministry of Education.

BETT Show

The TES and Becta are holding a day of ICT best practice on January 12. It includes the 2005 awards presentations and the TES lecture, “How teachers change their practice to change the world”, to be given by Professor Tim Brighouse, chief adviser to London Schools, and John Davitt, ICT adviser and freelance journalist. Plus presentations from three Becta ICT in Practice award-winning teachers. Other seminars include: “Connecting the UK: a digital strategy” by Doug Brown, Department for Education and Skills, and “From e-confident schools to e-confident education system” by Tony Richardson, National College of School Leadership. The exhibition features more than 600 educational suppliers with new zones for special needs and software.

Web for the Future

Entrants aged under 30 are challenged to come up with new scenarios making innovative use of the internet. Competition closes December 22. This international contest is supported by Macromedia, Reggio Emilia and Modena University.
