EIS members have unanimously backed a call from a pregnant colleague for the EIS council to ensure maternity and paternity provision was on a par with the rest of the public sector. Glasgow teacher Jean Miller said she would be entitled to 13 weeks’ full pay on maternity leave, while some staff in the public sector got as much as six months’ full pay and six months’ half pay.
