Janet Espley has been head of Thames Ditton County Infant School in Surrey since 1996. Over that time she’s brought about a real transformation in the way that the school uses ICT. When she arrived, there were no computers in the classrooms, and many of the staff needed to improve their ICT skills. Now, the school is well resourced (the PTA is committed to raising pound;5,000 a year to support ICT) and the staff are confident with the technology. More important, ICT has become embedded in the working life of the school.
