Problem profiles

The Executive's risk factors include displays of aggressive anti-social behaviour and hyperactivity; harsh or neglectful parenting; separation from parents; and parents and siblings who are offenders themselves.

The collection of data could continue into primary school where factors such as low attainment, persistent truanting and a lack of commitment to schoolwork would be noted.

Pupils' inability to manipulate abstract concepts, and therefore to foresee the consequences of their actions, would also place them at possible risk.
