The old formula failed to recognise substancial pockets of deprivation, in otherwised perceived “affluent” areas. This meant that children who should have received greater funding were losing out because the then government perceived them to live in a wealthy area.
I hope the new Government recognises this and adjusts the allocation formula accordingly, otherwise we will be no better off than under New Labour.
