Design work by senior pupils from three South Lanarkshire schools goes on show at the National Museum of Rural Life in East Kilbride from Wednesday, January 17. Text in Motion features jewellery, functional products and textiles designed and made by pupils at Duncanrig, Holy Cross and Stonelaw high schools. The work was created during a 10-week after-school project run by the council’s arts education team with the help of three design practitioners. Pupils studying art and design were encouraged to experiment with materials and techniques and help mount the exhibition at the museum.

“A celebratory display is an integral part of the design projects we run for the schools, to let everyone see what pupils can achieve,” says Aileen Marshall, project manager.
