Schoolchildren in Leicester are being allowed to have a say in the future of their city, through a project called The Blueprint for Leicester. They are working in teams on such challenges as: designing a transport system for the city; re-designing the local neighbourhood, with a particular focus on housing; and redeveloping an area of the city centre. The project is being co-ordinated by Leicester City Council and the environmental charity, Environ. Details: David Statham, LCC, 0533 526413, or Les Newby, 0533 856675.
