Pupils muscle in

A Gaelic youth group from the Western Isles has won the first ever all-Gaelic Dynamic Youth Award.

The awards are given to 10 to 14 year-olds in recognition of their achievements.

So far 3,000 awards, accredited by ASDAN, the Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network, have been handed out to groups in Scotland. But this is the first time a Gaelic youth group has completed the award entirely in Gaelic and received Gaelic certificates.

Members of the Oigridh Uibhist youth group from Benbecula received their awards after producing and performing a play called Fear nan Cnamh, about an osteopath who wasn't very good at his job. They also raised more than pound;500 for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
