PUPILS at a number of schools in Northern Ireland walked out in protest at the appointment of Sinn Fein’s Martin McGuinness as minister of education. The protests in Belfast, Carrickfergus, Newtownards and Cookstown have been backed by Ian Paisley’s Democratic Unionists, but the party has denied it is behind the action.
