Qualifications and Curriculum Authority reforms fail

* Reforms designed to broaden the subjects students study in the sixth form may have had the opposite effect, the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority has concluded.

But, as The TES revealed in October, the Curriculum 2000 changes saw a 5 percentage-point increase in the proportion of students choosing similar A-level subjects (such as doing all arts A-levels) between 2001 and 2002.
