More than 45,000 GCSE and A-level grades were changed after appeals this summer, figures have shown. Data released by Ofqual, the exams watchdog, revealed that the number of exam scripts being submitted for re-marking after this summer’s exams increased by 36 per cent compared with last year, with about one in six exam papers being regraded.
