MEN and boys are the main targets in a new campaign to boost and preserve UK reading, launched by standards minister Estelle Morris this week.

Reading Champions will run through the autumn term and build on the success of the National Year of Reading in using sports to sell books to boys.

The Naional Reading Campaign, which helps schools and libraries, will focus next year on young families (linked with Bookstart) and adult learners.

The NRC, part of the National Literary Trust, does not give grants but offers information, advice and its Read Me logo to anyone promoting reading.
