Take a Bite Into . . . In l887 a Bradford head bought some loaves and jam out of his wages when several poverty- stricken pupils fainted from hunger. To celebrate this action, which apparently led to national school dinners, the council has launched a pack looking at the history of this loved and maligned institution.
