Plans to give offenders’ children special support in schools have been criticised. Home Office minister Hazel Blears said she wanted criminals’

children to be tracked and targeted from their birth to their teenage years as there was a 65 per cent chance they would end up in prison. But Barnado’s and other charities warned the approach might stigmatise the young people.
