Nearly half of all people take part in voluntary work, but few receive recognition for their work, according to a new survey.

But 96 per cent of volunteers would like some sort of qualification, according to the study by the Wales Council for Voluntary Action.

Only 250 of the 250,000 volunteers working for the organisations surveyed had a national vocational qualification or its Scottish equivalent for their work.
