The Government moved this week to slash the bureaucracy surrounding applications for European Social Fund cash by guaranteeing to pay training organisations direct “on receipt of valid claims”.
The move to end the long wait for payment from Brussels will be welcomed particularly by colleges and voluntary groups, who say efforts to help the unemployed are hindered by slow payments.
