The quality of City Guilds’ qualifications is not jeopardised by our new regional arrangements (TES, August 2).

City Guilds has a long tradition of providing high quality vocational qualifications throughout the UK and internationally, and we have every intention of continuing to do so.

In response to customer needs, the administration of City Guilds’ schemes has become much more local, increasingly so over recent years. We have confirmed our commitment by establishing complementary customer service and quality service teams on a regional basis. These provide a local contact point for schools, colleges and other centres. City Guilds external verifiers will continue, as before, undertaking some 25,000 visits per academic year.

City Guilds has a vigorous regional presence and intends to keep it that way. Customers can be assured that any developments are designed primarily with their needs in mind.
