SHOULD MEN TEACH YOUNG CHILDREN? For his BEd dissertation, Sean Young from the College of St Mark and St John, Plymouth, would like to hear from male infant teachers, other teachers and parents. Issues he is examining include: whether male infant teachers make secure gender identification more readily attainable for boys, particularly those from fatherless families; “equal opportunity”; and what can be done to encourage male teachers while eliminating their fears of child abuse claims? Address: 24 Hollies Way, Bushby, Leicester LE7 9RJ.

STUDENTS (14-16) AND COMPUTERS

Mark Hanger of Brighton University has contacted The TES by e-mail. His dissertation examines whether using computers improves students’ exam results and whether they help them remember more of the subject studied. Views from teachers, researchers and industry welcomed. In addition, does anyone know of business studies or economics games in a question-style format? E-mail: 101647.223@compuserve.com
