* The website of Matthew Alden-Farrow, who has dyspraxia (www.matts-hideout.co.uk), provides a revealing insight into the condition.

It contains lots of practical advice, tried and tested.

* www.hiddenhandicap.co.uk has the reflections of parents with children who have the condition.

* The Dyspraxia Foundation (www.dyspraxiafoundation.org.uk) works to ensure that people understand the condition. The website includes the addresses of local support groups, details of current research programmes and helpful advice for teachers. It also has a wide range of publications. The organisation can also be reached at 8 West Alley, Hitchen, Herts SG5 1EG.

* The Dyspraxia Connection (www.dysf.fsnet.co.uk) provides support, information and practical help. It offers support for the bullied and has on-line mentoring for young dyspraxics.

* www.talkingaboutdyspraxia.org.uk TeacherPack.html is a Scottish website.

A group of teachers, with Dr Christine Macintyre of Edinburgh University, have developed guidance to help teachers identify and support children affected by developmental co-ordination disorder in early years. A copy of the teacher’s pack was posted to each nursery and primary school in Scotland in September 2002. Copies can be downloaded from this address.

* Many other local authorities provide information about their specific provision. Check their websites to see what support is available, for teachers and parents and their children.

* Other websites across the world explore the condition. These contain good introductions to dyspraxia and many interesting ideas.

* www.dyscovery.co.uk is the website of a private organisation that seeks to provide an integrated therapeutic approach to the condition. It provides courses for teachers and has been instrumental in setting up university-accredited training programmes in dyspraxia across the UK.
