A rewarding project

An activity table made of recycled supermarket carrier bags and a pound;500 voucher from PC World are the prizes on offer to primary school classes, and brownie and cub scout groups in a competition to promote “green” thinking. “Bin to Win” challenges children aged under 11 to devise their own environmental project, to organise and promote it, and to report on the outcome. The related website suggests how to make targets realistic, how to get plenty of people involved, and how to ensure that materials are disposed of properly. Litter-free snacks and selling other people’s “junk” are only two possibilities. The competition closes April 11. For more information and entry forms visit www.recycle-more.co.uk
