The former Exeter College principal and AoC president has been reappointed to the role for two more years

Hadlow College 'the most serious case I've seen' says FE commissioner

Richard Atkins CBE has been reappointed to the role of FE commissioner for another two years.

Mr Atkins, former principal of Exeter and Yeovil colleges and a former president of the Association of Colleges, was appointed in 2016. It has now been confirmed he will remain in the role until 20 October 2020.

The commissioner is paid £800 a day for the part-time, ad hoc role.

Two deputy FE commissioners - Steve Hutchinson and Andrew Tyley have been reappointed for two more years.
